Doughboys

1.) The way they described the war with the trenches how they had to live in them when at certain times they had to get up and run strait in to enemy fire to get closer to the enemy. When they had to charge a hill that had 20 gunners in the rocks and snipers in the trees. They didn't have anything but there pack and there gun. They didn't get a bath all they were there for was to fight and win a war. Fighting on the front line in the trenches shows great bravery.

2.)They were back ups when some men were getting drove back the marines came in to relieve them and drove the Germans back so that the infantry men could get back and take care of there wounds and get rested up.

3.) I think the greatest challenge would be staying alive. And also moving from one place to another without getting shot. There were alot of Germans firing and German aircraft firing that were always on the lookout.

My greatest fear would be down in the trenches hearing the bullets hit right next to you knowing that any second one could hit you, or the bombs that were being dropped thinking of one getting dropped in the trench I was sitting in feeling the metal fall all around. Seeing my buddy die thats sitting right next to me.
